Excellent gallery! I enjoyed the Cy Twombly Gallery very much. It’s a must see if you’re in Houston. There was no admission fee and the Menil Collection Museum is across the street. The Rothko Chapel is also near by. Twombly is best known for his large scale calligraphic paintings. Beautiful art, building and grounds! No pictures allowed inside gallery.

I may not understand the purpose of the abstract works or the intention of the artist, but I certainly appreciate the free admission, the air-conditioning and the availability of seats in the gallery.

There's no charge for entry. Reminds me of the Tate Modern in London. I like that this and other galleries are for just one artist, as you can easily see the progression in their work. I also like the galleries with many artists.

Obviously a Houston arts scene treasure. Whether you enjoy Cy Twombly or not it is always a good thing for a major artist to have a devoted museum place. If you come to Houston to see art, be sure to see this and the MFAH

I was only impressed on how he managed to frame and mount those huge canvasses. I don't care if people will say I can not see the beauty of modern art, but if it looks like something a five year old can do... then everyone is an artist. Now I understand why you are not allowed to take photos.
